Success is a very subjective word with very different interpretations. A typical depiction of success might encompass massive wealth, an extravagant property estate and many other luxuries that many are willing to die for.
...but in the world, nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes - Benjamin Franklin
Everyone has ambitions and dreams, to be someone greater and with power. However, it is human nature to be greedy and we are never content with what we have. Personally, my dream car is a Porsche, quite contrary to popular belief. Its sleek and modern persona appeals to me and it is a car that I would like to have.
However, some may downplay it and ask: Why not Lambo? What's the fucking point of owning a Lambo in Singapore anyway, where the speed cameras are working efficiently 24/7? What's the opportunity cost of owning a Lambo, could I have missed out on a potential lucrative investment?
I am readily content with what I have now and what I am working for in the years to come. A stable family and income, with two kids. It's good to have ambition and dreams, but perhaps I am unwilling to work my ass off for it. Why aim for the stars, when I am already content with paradise on Earth?
Afterall, when we die, we cannot take our materialism along with us.
